The lap-band surgery can also be termed as the gastric band procedure and this is the only adjustable weight- loss surgery that is available in the United States. This makes the people more customizable for the individual. In about 4-6 weeks after the surgery the patient may undergo for the first band adjustment. This surgery is only the adjustment and as such it takes about the 10 minutes as such in this surgery there only adjustment is done. As such when you start losing your additional weight then this might happen that additional lap-band adjustment may be needed.
In the lap-band adjustment the band is initially placed around the stomach. The adjustment band is connected to the tubing that helps to connect the access port that is fixed beneath the skin of the abdomen. As such this is the adjustment that cannot be seen but this can only be felt when the abdomen is pushed. As such in this adjustment the inner surface of the band can be inflated and also deflated if needed, with help of medical professional by using saline solution that are injected directly into the port.
The lap-band adjustment process allows each of the band's patients to take individual needs and progress that needs to be addressed. And if the patient has any queries related to the band adjustment then they can ask with their doctor before the surgery. For example if the patient is a pregnant lady then she can also have her band adjusted in order to accommodate the growing fetus and in other case if the patient is not experiencing the weight loss they can have their bands tightened.
If in case the Lap-Band Adjustment is very lose then you can add more saline and this will help to reduce the size of the opening to the lower region of the stomach. And if the band is very tight then in this case you can reduce the some of the saline will be done after loosening the band and also after reducing the amount of restriction.
