There are some lap-band transitions that the patients are restricted to follow after the surgery. When you are ready to leave the hospital then you will receive a diet plan, this will be required by the Lap–Band patient. This is important to understand the diet plan, the first 3 to 4 days the patient must follow a liquid diet. And failure in the prescribed diet can cause complication such as erosion or slippage and that will require additional surgery, so this is better for the patient to follow the diet plan. If the patient are a regular coffee, tea or soda drinker then they should be aware that the patient are not allowed to take caffeine for the first three months after the surgery. The second phase of the Lap-Band diet consists of 5 to 6 weeks of a modified full liquid diet.
